Check Painted Mons before committing

The community trainer reference describes Painter as giving random species every Type for the run. The painted pool changes which routes are available, so start by opening Check Painted Mons. The Beetdown plan below is useful only when Beetbud appears in that run's pool.

Conditional Beetbud to Beetdown route

  1. Confirm Beetbud is painted. If it is absent, choose a different painted species or another route supported by the shop.
  2. Use early offers to keep the board stable. Do not spend every turn chasing Beetbud copies if the current team needs protection or immediate damage.
  3. When copies appear, compare the upgrade with the current shop. The video creator uses free rerolls while searching for Beetbud copies and describes cooldown support as part of the run.
  4. Rebuild the supporting slots around the result. Keep support units that help the painted carry, then replace temporary units when their role ends.

Optional event branch to level four

In this run, a Monster Professor event offers three choices: level up one monster to a maximum of level four, take Research Notes, or collect $60. AJ McFeely chooses the monster upgrade for Beetdown. This is an event-dependent branch; it does not make level four a guaranteed or ordinary merge outcome.

What the video supports

The screen at 03:15 shows a Beetbud card with ALL Types and evolution at level 3. Later, AJ McFeely treats Beetdown as the carry, buys Boomagon, and reaches level four through the event choice shown above. The reviewed captions report a battle loss around 20:42; the creator later reports 14 wins at 37:41. These details describe one run, not a guaranteed result or a complete current meta ranking. The video opening references the 1.0 release, and no complete client build label is visible in the reviewed frames. Keep that version limit beside the route. The current official patch values and the site's historical v22 ranking snapshot are documented separately on the Patch 1.1.0 page.

Painter's rule and Beetbud's painted status are visible in the clip. Use the trainer reference for the community-listed ability, and check the in-game painted pool every run before following this example.
