Claim the daily Bug purchase deliberately
The community trainer reference lists Bug Catcher's ability as making the first Bug monster you buy each day free. The displayed Lamplet purchase in this Retromation run costs $0 while the trainer card shows that rule.

- Scan the Bug offers for the day. Use the free purchase on a Bug that helps the board or improves a near-term upgrade.
- Check its role before buying. A free unit can still be a poor fit when it does not stabilize the fight or support the line you are building.
- Reassess after the battle. Keep the Bug plan when the board and shop reinforce it. Change direction when another line offers stronger immediate support.
Use Rattleghast for opening fights
Check its neighbors before the battle: Rattleghast knocks out adjacent allies at battle start. Put expendable bridge units beside it when using that effect, and keep the carry you are growing out of those adjacent slots.
Retromation's Day 1 footage shows Rattleghast in the shop for $15 at 00:40. At 00:51, its card names Rattleghast and shows 4 Poison per allied knockout at the displayed level. The $8 beside the owned monster is its sell value in that view.

The developer's Patch 1.1.0 note lists Rattleghast at 15 gold with 4/8/12 Poison per allied knockout across levels. The clip supports a flexible opening example, with no universal cutoff or complete client build identified.
Keep the free buy and the battle plan separate
The trainer ability makes the first Bug purchase of each day free. In Retromation's run, the creator considers leaving Rattleghast at 04:58, yet has not removed the unit immediately by 05:58. At 21:06, the creator says heavier early losses could have led toward Poison stacking. Use health and the current shop to decide whether to stay with the Bug direction, keep Rattleghast as a bridge, or shift more deeply into Poison. UPD26-YT-003 · 04:58, 05:58, 21:06 to 21:41
