Budget for a board, not a perfect shop
Spend gold to solve the most urgent board problem first. Before a shop opens, note whether the current team needs immediate strength, a specific upgrade, or support for a route that already has pieces. Keep enough flexibility to react when the next offers point somewhere else.
- Write down the missing role. Damage, protection, a trigger, or an upgrade can be a useful target. A broad wish for a stronger shop is hard to act on.
- Compare the direct buy with the reroll. A unit that improves the next battle may be more valuable than paying to search for a later carry.
- Search with a fallback. If the named core does not appear, choose a bridge unit or invest in the best supported route currently available.
- Reassess after each result. When a roll changes your board or reveals a better direction, update the plan before spending again.

Coupon and Gray Chip use the game's Item category. The other changes on the patch page concern Trinkets. Keep the categories separate when checking an effect or reading a team snapshot.
Two decisions from one Swim Coach run
At 07:48, Aloneso chooses ten free rerolls over rare-only shops for five turns. Later, at 11:18–12:12, the creator says 80 gold went into searching for desired pieces without finding them, before a level-four shiny Swoonet appeared.
Use those moments as a practical reminder: decide which result you are searching for, compare each fresh shop with the board, and keep a bridge plan ready if the target stays missing. Upgrade or change direction?
- Choose an upgrade when the next level strengthens a role the team relies on, or when it unlocks the stated evolution.
- Choose a new role when your board is losing because of a gap the upgrade does not fix.
- Change direction when another route has multiple useful offers and the missing core remains unsupported.
- Keep a temporary unit while it still protects health or enables the core. Replace it when the role is no longer needed.
Check the numbers before using an old example
Coupon's discount is now 3 gold, and Gray Chip's listed win bonus is now 15 gold. The official patch page records the shipped values. Older route examples may describe the previous values, so recalculate a purchase using the current card.
